Dudek DriftAir Paramotor Wing

12 September 2022 by

Design and purpose

DriftAir is a safe paraglider for well-qualified pilots, aiming at active recreation or moderate level of sportive flying. Most of all, the DriftAir is ideally suited for multi-canopies formation flying, requiring dynamic manoeuvering and spectacular acceleration. It is a solid vehicle for covering the ground, too. And, with its agility it will prove great at slalom tasks, or just flying curves for pleasure.

It launches flawlessly and easy, smoothly rising up. Does not stay behind, even with trimmers set at slow and nil wind. In flight it remains stable, while demonstrating intuitive steering, agility and effective lift.

Reflex airfoil of DriftAir slightly varies depending on trim setting, yet the speed system can be safely used throughout entire trimmer range. When cutting through lift or turbulence the canopy stays over your head with only slight nicking, so it doesn’t require your constant attention.

Exceptionally wide choice of DriftAir’s sizes – as many as 7! – will allow each pilot to find precisely his optimal weight range.

Design

DriftAir is a cousin of the acclaimed Snake 1.2, but apart from the planform and flat aspect ratio, all other features are new, from the airfoil and way of its modification, through risers, to the brake handles. As a result we get an evolution on the verge of revolution – huge potential of this kind of designs appear optimally used in case of the DriftAir, while retaining large safety margin, always a priority for us.

  • Shark-nose (SN) on the leading edge takes care of better aerodynamics of this part of the canopy, as well as higher inner pressure at wide range of the attack angles (meaning airspeed).
  • The leading edge is stiffened with synthetic rods of the FET (Flexi Edge Technology), distinctly improving launch quality and guarding against collapses at high speeds.
  • The design features also other effective methods of canopy loads distribution, mediated by most modern sewing technologies.
  • Four rows of suspension lines are joined at the risers, equipped with compact yet very efficient tools like trimmers, speed and Power Attack (PA) system.
  • Steering system of the DriftAir is our well known, original solution of 2D steering, this time with new TCT+ handle (Triple Comfort Toggle), combining features of both the TCT and TST (Tip Steering Toggle).
  • As per our standard, the risers are equipped with three optional positions for the steering pulleys and magnets to choose from. Thanks to all these features, steering operation is straightforward and intuitive.
  • Obviously, in some powerpack/canopy configurations considerable amount of torque can appear. To counter this, there is proven in our Warp an automatic TEA system (Torque Effect Adjuster). It works on its own after placing the line on proper side, depending on the torque direction.
  • The canopy has the SL rigging (Sheathed Lines – meaning most of the lines are sheathed, with only some at the canopy unsheathed). The colours are assigned according to PMA standards.

DriftAir is manufactured entirely in Europe, at our Polish plant, so that we have total control over its sophisticated production process (using among else the advanced LT (Laser Technology) cutting.

Dudek Nucleon 4 Paramotor Wing

12 September 2022 by

Design and purpose

Nucleon 4 derives directly from the first reflex constructions that appeared in the world – Traper, Action, then ReAction. This pedigree was continued in several incarnations of the Nucleon, up to the current – fourth generation.

We focused in particular on combining the Nucleon WRC’s lateral stability with the agility and pleasant handling of the Nucleon XX. We also added the uncompromising stability of Reportair. Moreover, we managed to increase speed, load capacity, and make the Nucleon 4 lighter than all its predecessors.

Nucleon 4 was designed for intermediate pilots who have already solidly mastered the art of reflex wing flying and are familiar with their specific features. One of them is unique resistance to turbulence, and the only requirement for this legendary reflex safety is to ‘speed up’, meaning the release of trimmers and brakes with an optional pressing the speedbar, which can be used in any trimmer configuration.

A very easy launch, comfortable steering and a pleasant flare at landing are standard in our designs, but in the Nucleon 4 it has been even increased. We improved the flight economy as well.

The spectrum of operation is wide, from recreational and cross-country flying to classic paramotor competitions.

Design and structure

In the Nucleon 4 we used a new aerodynamic profile. The structure includes Flexi Edge (FET) technology, which ensures better aerodynamics and stiffness of the leading edge. Additionally, we use double reinforcements (LE2R) between the cells. Stiffening cores and other reinforcements together with the specific shape of the leading edge (shark nose) make sure that high pressure inside the wing is maintained over the full speed range.

Improved risers mechanisms make them intuitive to use, allow you to use the speed system in the entire range of trimmers, comfortably correct the flight direction with the 2D / TST system and compensate the spinning effect with the automatic TEA system.

Properly selected progression of the alternative 2D control system allows you to steer the wing reliably and effortlessly, which is especially important at higher flight speeds.

Nucleon 4 does not have a Power Attack system, nor is it possible to mount it.

Dudek Solo Paramotor Wing

12 September 2022 by

Both the design and advantages have evolved from the renowned tandem trike wing – the Cabrio. Solo offers a coherent & stable canopy, creating quite a lot of lift. All parameters have been selected to maintain the right proportions of passive safety, performance, and ease & precision of steering.

olo will meet the expectations of both recreational and XC pilots. It provides security of the typical B-category wings level.

Launch

During the start, Solo fills and gets up willingly, with no tendency to lag or overtake. The entire launch takes place over a relatively short distance, at low speeds. The use of launch-assisting tapes is usually not necessary. We recommend starting with the trimmers fully engaged.

Flight

Solo is stable with good lift. Looks good at moderate speeds, but equally efficiently moves forward when you need to accelerate. The elements of reflex and Shark Nose protect your safety, while the general flight chracteristics and light controls make for effective use of encountered lift.

Variable airfoil geometry, adjustable with trimmers, allows you to adjust the airfoil shape to the current flight profile and precisely control the flight speed.

Solo features a dual control system. The main steering lines work similarly to the classic wings and can be used throughout the full range of the trimmer. Small TST handles are used mainly in accelerated flight (open trimmers). Such a system makes it easier for the pilot to control and increases the efficiency of making turns without putting much effort in it.

In turbulence, the wing behaves predictably and confidently, efficiently suppressing both lateral and front-rear swings.

Landing

During landing approach, a relatively small pullon the brakes is enough to significantly reduce the speed and land gently.

Solo and its “classmates”

The question arises about the differences between Solo and similar wings in this segment – the Universal 1.1 or the no longer produced Synthesis 2. The Solo is more refined due to its slightly increased aspect ratio (5.4, as compared to 5.1 in Universal and Synthesis), yet at the same time it is easier to use. However, its “genes” come more from the Orca side, in particular the Cabrio, a fact emphasized by the same graphic design (with a modified color system).
Compared to Synthesis, Solo gets up and launches easier. In flight, its controls are lighter, and pilot will get a better feel of the air when thermalling. It is also more economical and has wider take-off weight ranges.
The Universal is, according to its name, more universal, while Solo is a pleasant, thoroughbred paramotor wing for beginner and intermediate pilots looking for an uncomplicated wing for fun and cross-country flying. The Solo has a shorter trimmers than Universal, and risers are easier to operate.

Design

  • The canopy has been designed in our CSG system (Canopy Shape Guard), which consists of several subsystems guaranteeing exceptional coherence of the canopy shape and its extended durability.
  • Adjustable reflex airfoil of the paraglider is based on our flagship DRA concept (Dudek Reflex Airfoil), duly optimized using special CFD software.
  • The intakes of Shark-nose technology
  • The Solo is made with the Flexi-Egde technology – the precise shape of the leading edge is kept with laminated cloth reinforcements, incorporating synthetic rods. These rods considerably improve launch quality, as well as keep deformations away at high speeds.
  • Careful selection of modern fabrics and design solutions brings about maximum reliability, strength and durability. All materials come from numbered production batches, and each production step can be verified down to identification of specific worker and controller.

The Solo is manufactured in technology utilizing precision of the laser cutter. All stages of production process take place in Poland under strict supervision of the designer himself, thus ensuring highest European quality.

Ozone Mojo PWR Paramotor Wing

12 September 2022 by

The Mojo PWR is aerodynamically very clean: the reduced sail drag, optimised line layout, reduced line consumption and newly-shaped cell openings all push the Mojo PWR’s performance to the top of the category without compromising safety. This balance of performance and safety is an important consideration for any new pilot, and the Mojo PWR combines EN A* rating with solidity, agility, low sink rate, and glide performance that is necessary for short take off and low fuel consumption during long XC flights.

Special attention has been made to the ground handling and inflation characteristics of the wing to make the whole process easier, less stressful and ultimately safer. Setting up is easy; the risers are simple and clean the wing inflates smoothly – without overshooting or hanging back – even in zero wind conditions. In stronger winds it inflates progressively with less tendency to “shoot up” and pull the pilot off their feet.

In the air the Mojo PWR is agile, stable and comfortable. In active air the wing is compact and forgiving. It is well damped in pitch, this helps it cut through turbulence efficiently making it very resistant to deflations and improving the re-inflation characteristics. It delivers gentle, predictable feedback and filters air movements in an understandable way. At full speed the leading edge remains solid allowing for a large usable speed range and high cruise speeds.

Brake pressure and brake precision have been refined for improved handling – turns are easy to initiate, and the wing maintains bank angles whilst thermalling with minimal input. This precision, along with the deeper overall brake range and higher resistance to stall or spin make the Mojo PWR a super-fun yet forgiving wing to fly.

Ozone Roadster 3 Paramotor Wing

12 September 2022 by

THE TECH

The Roadster 3 delivers all of the benefits of an advanced reflex profile and the patented OZONE SharkNose. The Shark Nose OZONE Reflex Profile was developed specifically for powered flight. It maintains a constant level of lift and internal pressure over a wide range of angles of attack, giving exceptional levels of stability throughout the speed range. In turbulent air, even at low angles of attack, the Roadster 3 is highly collapse resistant – the reflex profile absorbs turbulence and remains inflated even without pilot input. At high angles of attack the brake range is very forgiving, meaning that deep inputs can be made without the risk of stall.

THE DESIGN

The Roadster 3 features a new internal structure designed to increases the strength and longevity of the sail without adding weight. Further changes have been made to the twist of the wing and overall line lengths to improve roll stability and dampen the effects of engine torque, whilst improving the overall handling.

LAUNCH AND LANDING

On the ground the inflation is smooth and constant in any wind speed, with a gentle and consistent rise without shooting or lagging behind, even with the trimmers set to the slow position. Due to its exceptional inflation behaviour it excels in nil-wind conditions with a low take-off speed, enabling you to launch and land in small areas.

PLEASURE, PRECISION, AND AGILITY

Despite its easy and forgiving nature the most striking characteristic of the Roadster 3 is its fun and agility – it is a real pleasure to fly. The handling is easy, predictable, and forgiving, yet at the same time precise and responsive. The tip steering system maintains this high level of precision and agility whilst flying accelerated.
